Investigations

We left off our Clinton investigation at the INSLAW scandal that led to the deaths of three men. Picking up now, we will actually have to go back a year to 1992. Bill Clinton was running for president when the White Water scandal surfaced.

Before White Water turned into the massive scandal that we know, it was simply people investing in real estate. When Bill Clinton was a young governor of Arkansas and Hillary was an entry-level legal aid, they decided to find a way to supplement their meager incomes.

A friend of Bill’s from college, James McDougal, and his wife Susan were looking for investment opportunities so the couples decided to pool their financial resources and purchased a property that was several hundred acres of undeveloped land on the banks of White River. Out of this idea the White Water Corporation

The plan was to develop the land by building hunting lodges and vacation homes which they would sell and become wealthy.

Unfortunately for the Clinton’s and McDougal’s the economy took a downturn and there was a lack of interest from buyers and the project was a bust. The Clinton’s cut their losses and became passive partners in the Whitewater Development Corporation. Their names would still be associated with the business on paper, but they would no longer be involved in any future business ventures.

Clinton was elected in 1992, seemingly leaving behind the partnership. James McDougal, though, remained actively involved with the corporation. He searched for more complex ways to increase profits using dubious investments and financial schemes leading to him being investigated for financial fraud. During the forensic audit, Bill and Hillary Clinton’s names appeared on financial documents tied to the corporation.

It was unclear to investigators if the Clintons were aware of McDougal’s illegal activities, or even worse if they actively participated in or profited from the illicit financial dealings.

Eventually, the Clintons were exonerated, since investigators could not prove any active participation in the Whitewater Corporation during the years McDougal was under suspicion. The lieutenant governor of Arkansas at the time was indicted, however, along with James and Susan McDougal. In a controversial move, President Bill Clinton officially pardoned Susan McDougal for her peripheral involvement in her husband’s financial dealings before he left office in 2001.

More murder and mayhem

July 30, 1992, was a beautiful, sunny day out when Victor Raiser’s plane crashed. Raiser was a finance co-chairman for the Clinton presidential campaign. He eventually decided he was through with Clinton’s tactics and cover-ups and he walked away. It wasn’t long after that his plane crashed killing him, Montgomery Raiser, and three others.

Another person that Bill Clinton called “a dear friend and trusted adviser. Paul had one of the nation’s greatest political minds and one of its biggest hearts.” was Paul Tully. A DNC political director, Tully was found dead on September 24 in a hotel room in Little Rock. No autopsy was ever performed. Pulaski County Coroner Steve Nawojczyk said Tully appeared to have died of natural causes, probably heart attack or stroke. How he could know for sure without an autopsy? Only he knows.

We, unfortunately, have to add a few more kids to the list because the depravity of evil knows no bounds.

Ian Spiro was a British man working as a CIA agent. On November 1 Ian Spiro’s wife and 3 children were found in their home. They all died of gunshot wounds to the head. Ian’s body was found several days later in a parked car in the Borego Desert. Cause of death? The ingestion of cyanide. FBI report indicated that Ian had murdered his family and then committed suicide. He had supporting documentation for grand jury proceedings on the INSLAW case. In 1995, Kevin Brass noted that “According to court documents filed shortly after the murders, Spiro was holding computer equipment essential . . . to prove a Justice Department conspiracy to steal sophisticated computer software.”

For this one, you can decide for yourself because it’s entirely possible that this next death was an accident. In researching Jim Wilhite I wasn’t able to find any scandals associated with the Clinton’s; however, he was a friend of Bill’s and a business associate of White House Chief of Staff Mack McLarty. Shortly before his skiing accident, Wilhite took a phone call from Bill. Perhaps just one friend calling another? But with the last name Clinton, one can never be too sure. Wilhite was involved in a skiing accident where he succumbed to severe head trauma on December 21.

The tragedy at Waco

On February 28, 1993, 80 agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms raided a religious compound at Mount Carmel, near Waco, Texas. The agency received reports that the Branch Davidians and their leader, David Koresh, were violating federal firearms regulations.

This led to a 51-day standoff between federal agents and members of the sect called the Branch Davidians. The siege ended dramatically on April 19, 1993, when fires consumed the compound, leaving some 75 people dead, including 25 children. Just after 6 a.m. on April 19, 1993, FBI agents used two specially equipped tanks to penetrate the compound and deposit some 400 containers of gas inside.

Soon after the attack ended, around 12 pm, several fires simultaneously broke out around the compound, and gunfire was heard inside. There are also reports that agents outside the facility were firing at Davidians who were attempting to flee resulting in their deaths and preventing others from escaping. Safety concerns prevented firefighters from entering Mount Carmel immediately, and the flames spread quickly and engulfed the property.

Though nine Davidians were able to escape, investigators later found 76 bodies inside the compound, including 25 children. Some of them, including Koresh, had fatal gunshot wounds, suggesting suicide or murder-suicide.

The site was bulldozed before any evidence could be collected.

Throughout the siege, despite there being 76 Davidian casualties the government only saw the loss of four agents. Steve Willis, Robert Williams, Todd McKeahan & Conway LeBleu. All four men died from identical gunshot wounds to the left temple. They had all been bodyguards for Bill Clinton.

Stay tuned for more investigation into the Clinton’s. There’s a lot. And check out the first part!
