Since the installed administration took over the government the inflation has been out of control. We’ve seen prices on absolutely everything skyrocket over the past year, our gas is hitting anywhere from $4.20 – $8 depending where you are in the country. Yet, in the most recent spending bill, which as meant to send tax payer money to Ukraine, Congress gave themselves a 21% raise.

We, the American people, are facing an economic crisis that most of us have never had to deal with in our lifetimes. Historic inflation and rapidly increasing gas prices are putting a depressive mood on almost everybody.

Unless you’re in Congress, then things are going quite well for you since the $1.5 trillion omnibus bill on Wednesday included a 21% raise. $5.9 billion dollars of the fiscal 2022 Legislative Branch funding boosted allowances and salaries for them and their staff.

“This $134.4 million, or 21 percent, boost over the previous fiscal year marks the largest increase in the MRA appropriation since it was authorized in 1996, according to a bill summary by the House Appropriations Committee,” Roll Call reports.

Congressional members who earn an annual salary of $174,000 won’t see a raise, but their staffers, errand runners, and family members of lawmakers who are quite often on their payroll will see that pay raise.

“This bill is essential to keeping our democracy and the legislative branch of government functioning in a safe and accessible manner,” Senator Jack Reed, chair of the Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee, said in a statement. “At a time when the U.S. Capitol and the Capitol Police continue to operate amidst immense challenges, this agreement ensures they have the resources and staffing to protect the Capitol complex.”

The 2,741-page omnibus spending package is also loaded with pork, funding pet projects for lawmakers.

While they see their pay increase, we are left with the former vice president who is of course blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for our inflation and high gas prices.

“Democrats didn’t cause this problem. Vladimir Putin did,” said Biden. “Make no mistake, inflation is largely the fault of Putin.”

A good leader takes the blame when things go wrong in their country. Not Biden though. It’s everyone else’s fault except his and the Democrats. A typical leftist action though. So who is to blame for the problems that we’re facing? Vladimir Putin. Covid. Wall Street. And oil executives of course. Definitely, nothing that he or the other lawmakers in this country have done.

It’s time that lawmakers are held accountable for the disaster they are creating. We are suffering financially while they sit pretty.

The energy policies that Biden has signed into law is what’s holding up oil producers and inflating our gas prices. He canceled the Keystone Pipeline on day 1 which was a massive hit on our energy independence. The blame on Putin is bogus. Prices everywhere were rising steadily long before the Ukraine invasion.
