It’s being reported that Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever actress Letitia Wright is done with MCU and Black Panther due to the vaccine mandate that is in place.

Letitia Wright stirred up controversy in December 2020 when she tweeted an anti-Covid vax video, which she later deleted and issued an apology for.

She was blasted as being irresponsible which did not sit well with Wright, which it shouldn’t. She commented that “you get canceled” if “you don’t conform to popular opinions,” also saying she is not “saying don’t take” a COVID-19 vaccine but is “concerned about what’s in it.” By Friday, she had deleted the original tweet and said “my intention was not to hurt anyone” but still defended herself for wanting to raise “concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies.”

The Black Panther franchise was turned upside down with the passing of T’Challa actor, Chadwick Boseman, after his battle with colon cancer. Many felt that Marvel too hastily (and maybe greedily) announced that Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever would continue production but they would not recast Boseman’s T’Challa.

Once filming commenced, Wright was injured on set. She was treated in a hospital after sustaining minor injuries on the Boston set back in August.

According to a report from Giant Freakin Robot “Our trusted and proven inside source has told us Letitia Wright allegedly doesn’t want to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because she is unwilling to get the vaccine.”

Disney’s Covid vaccine mandate was issued over the summer but allegedly did not apply to the Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever set since filming was already underway.

The Hollywood Reporter claimed back in October 2021 that Wright was vocal about her views on the vaccine and the mandate while revealing that she dropped her US representation due to her Tweets in December 2020.

Wright returned to Instagram after they issued this report to deny what The Hollywood Reporter said and to assert that her behavior had been entirely professional throughout shooting Black Panther 2.

Letitia Wright is not the first Hollywood actor to reportedly leave production due to the vaccine mandate put in place by Disney. Emilio Esteves left the “Mighty Ducks” spinoff for the same reason.

So are the rumors true? Is she done with the MCU and Black Panther 2 due to the covid vaccine mandate? Only time will tell if Giant Freakin Robot’s sources are correct.
