Biden Airstrikes Against Syria 1

The Biden administration has been in office for 5 weeks. Less than two years since the above Tweet was tweeted.

On Thursday Joe Biden ordered an an airstrike in Syria that targeted facilities used by  Iran-backed militia groups.

The airstrike was retaliation for a February 15 rocket attack against a US military base at Erbil International Airport in Northern Iraq that killed a US-led coalition contractor and left others wounded, including an American service member.

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the attack “destroyed multiple facilities at a border control point used by a number of Iranian- backed militant groups.”

The groups included Kataib Hezbollah and Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada, according to Kirby. One our of Congresswomen supports Hezbollah. You know her. Ilhan Omar.

Kirby stated, “President Biden will act to protect American and Coalition personnel. At the same time, we have acted in a deliberate manner that aims to de-escalate the overall situation in both eastern Syria and Iraq.”

It is believed 22 were killed in the attack.

Fox News reported “The Department of Defense briefed Congressional leadership before the action last night. The Administration has been briefing the Hill at the Member- and staff-level today,” Psaki said in an official statement. “There will be a full classified briefing early next week at the latest.”

Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki is also facing backlash for previous tweets she’s made against airstrikes during President Trump’s time in office.
