Ibrahim Bouaichi Released Due to Covid is a Rapist Turned Murderer

Over the past few months, we’ve seen authorities authorize the release of dozens of violent offenders. One of these is rapist Ibrahim Bouaichi from prison in Virginia.

Karla Elizabeth Dominguez Gonzalez, a former beauty queen, accused Bouaichi of raping her in 2019. He was in jail, held on six felony charges including rape, sodomy, strangulation, abduction, burglary, and malicious wounding.

He was being held without bond.

In April his legal team argued “Social distancing and proper disinfecting measures are impossible while incarcerated. … Simply put, the risk of contracting COVID-19 in jail is exceedingly obvious.”

So Circuit Court Judge Nolan Dawkins released Bouaichi on $25,000 bond. He was only permitted to leave his Maryland home to meet with lawyers or court officials while awaiting trial.

On July 29 Bouaichi left his home and traveled to Alexandria, Virginia where he shot Gonzalez multiply times, killing her.
