“Censorship is the tool of those who have the need to hide actualities from themselves and from others. Their fear is only their inability to face what is real, and I can’t vent any anger against them; I only feel this appalling sadness. Somewhere in their upbringing, they were shielded against the total facts of our existence.” – Charles Bukowski
Over the past few years we’ve seen a major change in the behavior of society. Where we once welcomed and encouraged free speech and discourse, we now have to deal with people screaming at us about offensive words and safe spaces. The silencing and censoring has increased dramatically.
Even if you’re not there you see the videos floating around on social media and Youtube. We see those going in and asking the hard questions only to be screamed at and chased away.
Our first amendment is the first for a reason. It is the most important right that we have. Once we step back and allow the mentally unstable in this country dictate what we can and cannot say, where we can say what we want; well we’re on our way to a totalitarian state. They will silence us.
We’re already being silenced.
Kaitlin Bennett of Info Wars recently went to Rutgers University. She went to interview students about the usual things. Student debt, 1st and 2nd amendment rights, and to hold polite discourse. She was screamed at and the police were called on her for being there.
What did the police say? There are DESIGNATED PLACES FOR FREE SPEECH! Yes, you read that right. Rutgers has a designated place for free speech.
Another that is often screamed at and chased away is Steven Crowder. He’s very open for conversation and wants to have a civilized debate. Occasionally he gets that. Sometimes he gets someone who is educated in their beliefs. Someone who doesn’t just regurgitate what CNN tells them about “Orange Man Bad”. There were a lot of examples I could have picked for him. Here’s a more recent one of him being screamed at for having a differing opinion.
Another very controversial journalist is Ben Shapiro. He is someone that can get under anyone’s skin, even those who are on his side. He’s controversial. He is smart. He knows his shit. I would honestly consider him one of the most controversial journalists besides Alex Jones. And that isn’t a bad thing. He makes you think and rethink what you believe. He’s open for discourse and encourages conversation.
He’s always chased away from colleges who want to host him.
And lets not forget about Candace Owens. She started the Blexit movement, is one of the most prominent African-American conservatives of our time and she is smart as a whip. I’ve read so many nasty things that people say about her. Watched videos of people telling her to stay quiet. But the worst was what congress did to her. The way they treated her, took her words out of context and tried to get her in trouble for something she didn’t say. Ted Lieu should be ashamed of himself for his behavior. Then Jerry Nadler wasn’t even paying attention when she spoke! He interrupted her and accused her of calling someone stupid (Which Lieu is) when she didn’t. Shame on all of them.
And the most controversial right leaning journalist of all, Alex Jones of Info Wars. He’s called a conspiracy nut, he’s mocked, and he’s banned from everything. He’s been permanently banned from Twitter and YouTube. The Young Turks talk about him. CNN talks about him.
He’s passionate and he knows what he’s talking about. While his ideas seem crazy, he usually always ends up correct and the left can’t stand it. They’ve been doing everything they can to silence him, but they can’t.
Consequently, I didn’t include everyone I could have today, so this is just a small snippet of those who are being silenced. This shows how intolerant the left is to free speech and how they will throw their temper tantrums until they are given what they want.
Too bad for them because we will not bow to their childishness. We will not allow them to win this. Our first amendment rights are for everyone. Not just the left.
