Illegal immigrants have posed an issue for the country since the beginning of the Biden administration. Between Joe Biden wanting open borders and Kamala Harris announcing that our southern border is secure, our southern states are overwhelmed. Two governors have taken matters into their own hands.
Governor Greg Abbott of Texas and Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida have taken the migrant crisis into their own hands since the border czar, Kamala Harris, won’t help. in fact, she’s been saying that the southern border is secure.
Our border is not secure and to show that Governor Abbott bussed about 100 illegal immigrants to Harris’ doorstep in Washington, D.C.
Harris has refused to speak with reporters, quickly turning away and leaving whenever she’s questioned about the border and the illegals dropped off at her house.
“What’s your reaction to the buses that were arriving yesterday?” Harris was asked as she welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to Washington.
Harris did not respond or react to the inquiry as she entered the Naval Observatory, about 2 miles northwest of the White House.
Second gentleman Doug Emhoff had a more robust response earlier in the day.
“I do have a reaction. I think it was shameful. These are human beings. These are people,” the veep’s husband said at an event promoting updated COVID-19 booster shots.
So it’s okay for them to sleep under bridges in Texas, but not in front of their home?
“They needed to be treated with dignity and kindness and respect and they weren’t,” Emhoff added. “And we have so-called leaders in this country who, rather than focusing on what’s good for the public within their own states, they’re using people as pawns for a political stunt.”
Governor Abbott released a statement regarding the issue of the overwhelmed border and the fact that the “border czar” is not doing her job.
The Biden administration has tried time and time again to cover up their complete failure to no avail. Only the blindest are not acknowledging the fact that there is a problem.
Fox News reporter, Peter Doocy, questioned press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Novak Djokovic being barred from entering the United States to play in the US Open because he hasn’t been vaccinated against COVID.
Doocy asked, “Somebody unvaccinated comes over on a plane, you say that’s not OK. Somebody walks into Texas or Arizona unvaccinated, they’re allowed to stay?”
Here’s Jean-Pierre’s answer: “That’s not how it works … It’s not like someone walks over.”
But that is what’s happening. Between October 2021 and July 2022 Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 1.8 million people illegally crossing our southern border.
Each day in July, an average of nearly 6,000 illegal immigrants were arrested at the border — or “encountered,” in the new PC jargon.
An illegal immigrant outside Harris’ home at the Naval Observatory reported told Fox News national correspondent Griff Jenkins that he believes the U.S. southern border is “open.”
“The border is open. Everybody believes that the border is open,” a Venezuelan man told Fox News. “It’s open because we enter. We come in, free, no problem.”
When asked how the immigrants came into the U.S., he added, “We came illegally.”
Governor DeSantis sent two plane fulls of illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday after promising to send illegal immigrants to the progressive states.
Now, the locations that the illegals have been sent to proclaim to be ‘sanctuary cities.
“States like Massachusetts, New York and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden administration’s open border policies,” said Taryn Fenske, the governor’s communication director.
Florida state legislators appropriated $12 million from the state budget for the Florida Department of Transportation to implement the immigrant relocation program in April.
“We are not a sanctuary state, and it’s better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction, and yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures,” DeSantis said on Thursday, a day after claiming credit for sending the two planes to the island. “Every community in America should be sharing in the burdens. It shouldn’t all fall on a handful of red states.”
Martha’s Vineyard and Washington, D.C. are not the only locations to receive illegal immigrants.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has quickly changed her tune when it comes to accepting illegals into her ‘sanctuary city’. She proclaimed Chicago a ‘welcoming sanctuary city’ but she quickly shipped off the busloads from Texas to the nearby suburb of Burr Ridge. Far from Chicago.
She declared that Governor Abbott a “racist” and a “xenophobe” for sending the illegals to these ‘sanctuary cities’ claiming a human crisis. What about the Texas towns that are overwhelmed with the millions, not hundreds that these other cities are acquiring?
“This is about a cheap political point. It’s not about sharing the load. To Greg Abbott and his enablers in Texas: with these continued political stunts, (he) has confirmed what many of us had already known: he’s a man without any morals, humanity, or shame,” Lightfoot said early this month.
Burr Ridge Mayor Gary Grasso said that Chicago did not coordinate with them before dropping off dozens of illegals at a Burr Ridge hotel. The exact same thing that Lightfoot is accusing Abbott of doing.
“My frustration comes from the actions of the governor of Texas,” Lightfoot said on Sept. 4, after the first bus load of 50 illegals arrived. “There could be a level of coordination and cooperation, but he chooses to do none of those things and instead tries to send human beings — not cargo, not freight — human beings across the country to an uncertain destination.”
“I am concerned neither the village administrator nor I were told about this,” Grasso said. “We want to know: Why Burr Ridge?”
Grasso added that, while Cook County is a so-called sanctuary county, his town never took a stance by joining the sanctuary movement.
