The Federal Firearm Licensing Act Would Force All Americans to Obtain a Federal License in Order to Buy a Firearm with a 5-Year Limit; Includes Confiscation

On Thursday, May 19th 2022, Senate Democrats introduced a new and heinously strict gun control bill that goes further than any other bill before it and destroys the second amendment. In this bill, titled the Federal Firearm Licensing Act, will force all Americans to go through a federal licensing program just to buy any firearm. This program includes a written test, hands-on training and a criminal background check where you must submit fingerprints and proof of identity, and be over 21 years of age.

It is not detailed if this licensing program must be completed for EVERY firearm purchase; but let’s be honest, if they are going this far they will probably want to go all in and enforce this unconstitutional bill onto every purchase.

The bill also authorizes the government to confiscate an individual’s guns if the license is revoked. Remember how they have done things without due process in the past. They’ll likely revoke your license for something you post online. Hell, even WITH their version of “due process” they’ll likely treat the situation like red flag laws and take your firearms first, then make you fight to get them back.

In total, the bill is 11 pages. You can read it in its entirety below.

The legislation was introduced by Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ), Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).

“This bill moves us in the right direction and is based on a simple concept: if you need a license to drive a car, you should need one to buy and possess a gun,” Senator Booker said in a statement.

The Federal Firearm Licensing Act

This argument about needing a license to drive a car is so old at this point. I’m surprised it’s still being used considering it’s been easily debunked many times on the floor of Congress. Driving a car is a privilege and not a right. Even though, at this point, I’d be okay with making anything not harming someone else, a right. The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness should pretty much encompass things like driving a car.

But I digress.

This is tyranny in any language. These people don’t believe in “shall not be infringed.” I’m sick of hearing that “they don’t want to take your guns.” They do and they will if we allow them.

With the amount of shootings lately, including the one today in Texas, they will try their hardest to play on people’s fears and emotions. Don’t let them. Take a break from the tragedies and come back to thinking logically when you’re ready. Don’t let them use you.

And, as a reminder, don’t forget the NRA doesn’t really fight for us. Gun Owners of America, however, is already on top of this bill.
