Multiple States Launching Investigations Into GoFundMe’s Deceptive Practices

Multiple States Launching Investigations Into GoFundMe’s Deceptive Practices

Since GoFundMe’s decision to remove the Freedom Convoy’s page and initial talks about dispersing the funds to charities of their choice, multiple state Senators and Governors have decided to launch investigations into the platforms deceptive practices.

GoFundMe may have backed themselves into a corner this time. The hypocritical, leftist site decided to remove the Freedom Convoy’s campaign over the weekend because of lies. They also decided to seize the $10 million that was raised and to disperse to charities of their choice.

Since the backlash, they then decided to just refund everybody’s money. That’s not saving them though.

In their statement to the truckers, GoFundMe called the peaceful protest an “occupation” and claimed the protest included “acts of violence” and “other unlawful activity.”

The first to say they were launching investigations was Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida.

On Saturday morning he announced the decision to launch the investigation following the attempt to steal donations and give them to charities.

Following his announcement, Georgia AG, Chris Carr, will also investigate GoFundme.

Missouri AG, Eric Schmitt, tweeted that he would be joining Florida and Georgia in investigating the deceptive practices as well.

On Sunday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission asking for an investigation into FoFundMe.

“Today I sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission asking that the FTC open an investigation into GoFundMe into whether they’ve committed deceptive trade practices,” Cruz told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“Because when people gave money, they gave money under the promise it would go to the Freedom Convoy, not to whatever left-wing political ideology GoFundMe and other Silicon Valley companies support. They are deceiving consumers and it is wrong,”

“The Canadian truckers are heroes, they are patriots and they are marching for your freedom and for my freedom,” Cruz told Bartiromo. “They’re defending Canada, but they’re defending America as well. That is, that is courage on display that the government doesn’t have the right to force you to comply to their arbitrary mandates. And they’re standing up for freedom, and of course, big government hates it and is trying to crush them.”

If you want to donate to the Freedom Convoy, they have a new campaign available on the true free fundraising site, GiveSendGo. Remember that these brave truckers, farmers, and now cowboys are not just fighting for Canada, they’re fighting for all of us. They are standing up to the tyrannical Canadian government and their ridiculous vaccine mandate.

It’s not an anti-vaxx protest, it’s an anti-mandate protest. Don’t let the MSM fool you about that.
