I’m in the process of writing a book. It’s a hobby of mine. I’ve been doing it for years. That’s neither here nor there; however, part of my writing for books and my articles involves a lot of researching. I stubbled upon something rather interesting that happened 147 years ago that I’ve never heard of before despite all of the history lesson’s I’ve had in my lifetime.

History is important because if you don’t learn from it you’re doomed to repeat it.

In Barbour County, The White League, (a paramilitary group affiliated with the Democratic party) attacked African-American voters at the polls in Eufaula and Spring Hill. Seven African-Americans were killed and 70 others wounded.

More than 1,000 African-Americans were driven away from the polls due to the violence of the white supremacist group and their ballots were burned.

Republican politicians and officials were thrown out of office, the league didn’t count the votes cast for Republican candidates, and the Democrats were declared as winners of the 1874 elections.

Similar events took place in Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

These riots, state sanctioned violence, voter suppression, and Democratic party controlled government signaled an end to the Reconstruction era.

The members of the The White League worked openly to disrupt Republican meetings, and attacked and intimidated voters to suppress black voting.

Why is this particular instance in history never mentioned when discussing past indiscretions? Why isn’t this particular riot talked about and taught in all schools?

Over the course of President Donald Trump’s Presidency the Democrats and MSM have been screaming about the racists of the right. They tore down statues and screamed how evil conservatives are. They turned their backs on America and her people.

What the Democrats have failed to remember is the Election Riots of 1874. But history can’t just be erased. It’s not meant to be erased, from either side. We are meant to learn from our mistakes so we don’t repeat them. After the fraudulent elections that were rigged for Mr. Biden, he called for unity and peace. He just wants to unite the American people. The problem is that they are not learning from their past mistakes.

But We The People are. We know our history. We know what happens when a government full of corruption gets their way. Which is why we aren’t allowing the fraud to go through. This is why they are fighting in court and why we are taking a stand. We have learned from history.

I’m a fan of the Declaration of Independence. It’s a very important document from our past. It’s about our history.

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
