Mayor Bill de Blasio Sets Quarantine Checkpoints in NYC and Up to $10,000 Fines

Seems like there’s a flood of mayors taking authoritarian actions as of late. We had shutting off water and electric in LA, and now we have quarantine checkpoints in NYC with fines.

If you plan on making a trip to New York anytime soon be sure to check that bank account and make sure you have $10,000 for the potential fine you’ll accrue. Mayor Bill de Blasio has set up quarantine checkpoints in New York City.

If you break New York City’s two-week quarantine rule and their checkpoints that are going to be set up at entry points into the city you will be fined up to $10,000, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday.

If you are traveling from one of the designated 35 high-risk infection states and Puerto Rico you must quarantine for 14 days. If you’re flying in and don’t fill out the special travel form, you will get a $2,000 fine.

What states do they consider high risk? Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico.

“The idea is we don’t want to penalize people,” de Blasio said at his daily press briefing. “We want to educate them, we want to make sure they’re following the rules.”

Head of the Test and Trace Corps Ted Long said that there will be teams deployed to Penn Station on Thursday to ensure that incoming travelers are filling out these special travel forms and phone calls will go out to the travelers.

“If we can’t get through to you on the phone, we’ve now deployed teams to knock on your door and check in on you to make sure you’re safe,” Long said.

De Blasio’s order comes not long after Governor Andrew Cuomo begged the rich New Yorkians to go back and “I’ll buy you a drink” because of the mass exodus of the high tax payers.

Cuomo said at a press conference that he is begging wealthiest residents who left the city to come back: ‘I literally talk to people all day long who are in their Hamptons house who also lived here, or in their Hudson Valley house or in their Connecticut weekend house, and I say, “You gotta come back, when are you coming back?”

“We’ll go to dinner, I’ll buy you a drink. Come over, I’ll cook.”

Now that De Blasio is fining people who break his new ‘quarantine checkpoints in NYC’ rules, why would anyone want to go back to New York? Cuomo put Covid-19 patients back into nursing homes, seeing a drastic rise in elderly deaths. Gun-related violence is up 342% since the Marxist terror group BLM began their riots. And do as I say not as I do, De Blasio has admitted that the BLM “mural” that was painted in front of Trump Tower is there illegally.

Cuomo and De Blasio are not giving good reasons for the wealthy New Yorkians to return to their homes or for visitors to want to go to the city.
