Dunkin’ Donuts Employee Arrested
A Chicago Dunkin’ Donuts employee was arrested after he spit into an Illinois State Troopers coffee when he visited the shop on Thursday around 10:20pm.
The officer took the lid off his hot coffee to allow the beverage to cool when he found a “large, thick piece of mucus which was later confirmed to be saliva†in his cup, cops said.
Vincent J. Sessler, 25, was arrested following an investigation. Sessler, who was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless conduct, and battery to a peace officer.
“This is outrageous and disgusting. The men and women of the Illinois State Police put their heart and soul into protecting the lives and rights of all people in this state every day,” ISP Director Brendan F. Kelly said in a statement to local news. “They deserve better than this insulting and dangerous treatment. For their safety, ISP officers and employees will be prohibited from patronizing this location.”
Sessler has been fired from his job as well as his arrest.
“The type of behavior reported to us is inconsistent with the brand’s values,” a Dunkin’ Donuts spokesperson commented to local news. “Dunkin’ has a deep appreciation for police officers who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe, and the franchise owner has reached out directly to the officer to apologize for the experience.”
