Of those 60 (so far), 9 have died. Those shot include ages ranging from 3 years old to 64 years old. Black on black violence in Chicago sees no age for another weekend.
On Friday night, a 13 year old girl and 2 teenage boys (one 15 and another 16) were shot shortly after a 3 year old. The girl was in her home when shot in the neck and has since died. The boys are said to be in good condition.
Another 3 year old, this one a boy, was shot along with his father while they were driving in their SUV.
The mayor said the shooting was “a heinous, unconscionable act of cowardice.” He also said that the boy “had his whole life ahead of him.â€
Mayor Lightfoot is asking the community members to com forward with any information.
The mayor continued, “To the despicable individuals responsible for this senseless act of violence, you have no place in this city, no home in our communities, no shelter to hide.â€
