Gun Control

On Top of an Increased Budget Through September 2022 and More Money to Ukraine, H.R. 2471 (Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022) Also Includes Gun Control

On March 11th, Congress approved the colossal fiscal year 2022 $1.5 trillion spending bill and was signed into law by former Vice President Joe Biden on March 15th. Within those 2,741 pages of H.R. 2471 is an increased budget across many areas and $13.6 billion in aid for Ukraine. What’s that? Having issues with getting to work due to high gas prices or sick and tired of having your home close to the border being broken into by illegal immigrant criminals? Ah stop whining. We have Ukrainians to save! I’m being facetious, by the way.

However, the government IS thinking about you. It just isn’t what you’re expecting. They are VERY worried about your safety when it comes to firearms. That’s right. On top of the inflation they’ll be adding to with even more spending and increased budgets, the government has once again hidden gun laws in a bill that has NOTHING to do with firearms.

The first piece of hidden gun control legislation is the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act. This was an act originally passed in 1994 by Bill Clinton. Fortunately, some language was removed that was originally added last year during the first time they tried to pass it. These sections were, thankfully, removed.

  • Sections 101 and 102: This granted funding programs to train police to executive “red flag” gun confiscation orders.
  • Section 801: This was an expansion of the Lautenberg Misdemeanor Gun Ban (a.k.a. Biden’s “Boyfriend Loophole”).
  • Section 802: This language included funding to turn state-level stalking laws into “red flag” gun confiscation laws.

However, other acts and language was included in the overall spending bill. The NICS Denial Notification Act can be found in sections 1101 through 1102. This allows criminal investigations to be launched into firearm purchase and transfer background check denials. Many may not realize that 9 out of 10 times this denial occurs, it’s actually of a law-abiding citizen. Unfortunately, those people will now be criminally investigated. So long to due process…

Continuing into the next section, section 1103, funding is being given to the ATF for deputizing local police to enforce federal gun laws. This is an obvious attack on 2nd Amendment sanctuary cities and States that passed their own Second Amendment Protection Acts (SAPA). The Biden administration is working overtime to destroy the Constitution and the laws in States trying to protect it.

Federally Deputize Police For Gun Control In H.r. 2471

You can read the entire bill here.

39 Republicans in the House and 18 in the Senate voted to pass this bill. The anti-gun Democrats were short one Senator in this vote, which means the Republicans could have easily stopped this bill if they wanted to. Not only that, but the Republicans had COVID-19 spending removed from this bill. This tells me they obviously were looking into what was going on. Make sure to contact these 18 Senators and let them know how you feel about your rights being whittled away even further.
