The Investigation Continues with an Explosive Disposal Unit on Scene of Ambassador Bridge Border Crossing
The Ambassador Bridge temporarily closed in both directions, but is now closed only going into Canada. This bridge connects Canada and the US at Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. Investigators say the surrounding areas have been evacuated, but traffic remains open via the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel and the Blue Water Bridge.
Police, Firefighters and EMS responded with the Explosive Disposal Unit.
Officials say the incident began when Canada Border Services Agency officers notified Windsor Police after possible explosives were located inside a vehicle in the secondary inspection area.
