Speaking with CNBC on July 10th, former NBA Hall of Famer and current analyst Charles Barkley spoke about the current racial issues and how sports (and some fans) are handling them.
Barkley says that a lot of fans might not come back if the current handling of the situation continues. He believes the way things are being done is turning into a “circus” and many fans, even longtime fans, are being turned off from the sport, or at least the league.

“I think we’re missing the point.” Barkley says.”We need police reform, we need prison reform. My concern is turning this into a circus instead of trying to do some good stuff.â€
“The media contributes to the ‘circus’ by focusing on kneeling and messages on buses and jerseys,” Barkley added.
He said police reform should mean “good cops out there policing the bad cops.â€
Barkley also mentioned how sports are supposed to be something that brings people together and that people missing jobs don’t want to hear a bunch of rich people arguing about the racial and political issues.
