Ilhan Omar and FEC

The squad is just full of controversy lately from Talib Rashid and her breakdowns, AOC being sued for violating the first amendment, and now Ilhan Omar is slapped with an FEC complaint for using campaign funds on her married lover.

“It looks like, on the surface, that she used campaign finance funds to benefit her paramour,” said Tom Fitton, head of conservative oversight group Judicial Watch.

Ilhan Omar And Fec Complaints

Last month, Judicial Watch asked the House Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate unsubstantiated claims that Omar (D – Minn.) married her brother to get him a green card.

“The new reporting is additional reason for an ethics investigation,” said Fitton. He added that, in light of The Post’s exclusive reporting, he plans to file a supplemental complaint with the OCE. Fitton may also ask the Federal Election Commission to eye the arrangement. “This would be par for the course for Ilhan Omar,” said Fitton. This comes thanks to the NyPost.

The FEC complaint was filed a day after Beth Mynett, wife of Omar’s consultant Tim Mynett, filed divorce papers when he revealed to her that he was having an affair with the freshman congresswoman.

The Numbers

Omar’s campaign has paid Mynett’s E. Street Group, LLC around $230,000 for fundraising consulting, digital communications, Internet advertising and travel expenses since 2018. What’s funny about this is that the expenses are in lump sums when she claims them rather than the required itemized list it’s supposed to be when campaign funds are used.

Let’s break that $230,000 down a bit.

Omar’s campaign paid out $7,000 in July 2018 to Mynett. Her campaign then paid out to E Street Group roughly $222,000 from 2018 to 2019 for fundraising consulting, travel consulting, and internet advertising, among other services.

Again, none of these payments were itemized. FEC rules require that such travel expenses list the individual benefiting from the arrangement, as well as the date and purpose of the payment.

Remember, E Street Group is owned by Mynett.

When questioned about the alleged affair with Mynett and if she is still married, Omar is quick to shut down questions and refuses to address the latest rules she has broken.

After all, you can’t question a ‘woman of color.’ That’s racist and sexist. She’s free to be as corrupt as she wants…

She sure is putting the ‘infidel’ in infidelity and the ‘corrupt’ in corruption.
